Prairie Style High Performance

This house is located on a hilltop near Black Earth, nestled into a sloping and partially wooded site with views of the Driftless area to the north, south and east. The house was designed for aging in place with all the functions needed for living located on one level while the exposed portion of the basement provides two additional bedrooms. The light monitor protruding through the main roof brings daylight into a central, spacious living room. Passive house principles were also applied in the design and construction of this house. While the images shown here are renderings, the construction on the house is complete.

Designed during my time at Design Coalition, an architecture firm in Madison, Wisconsin.
