Deep Energy Retrofit & Exterior Design

The owner of this house loved the location overlooking the lake on Madison’s east side, but the performance, function and curb appeal needed some improvement. A new bay window, rooftop deck, windows, doors and exterior cladding gave some charm back to this house while still maintaining and improving the view to the lake. Other than the new triple-paned windows and doors, performance improvements included air-sealing and additional insulation for the walls and attic as well as a more efficient heating and cooling system. Interior layout improvements and a new screened porch on the rear were also included in the project.

This project was completed during my time at TDS Design Build. As the Architect & Design Lead, I worked closely with the design team to develop the project for construction.
